10 Week Challenge Results

This post is about a month overdue, but due to my hectic schedule for work and play, I haven’t had the time to sit down and really summarize this little project I did to myself.

My first day was 2/22/12 and I received my fitness profile on 3/9/12. My final fitness assessment from Body Design was on 6/1/12. I was very pleased with the results but felt I could have done better. In the home stretch, I was going on so many trips and I’m still adjusting to eating proper on the road. I tried to make as smart decisions as I could while traveling but definitely caved on occasion.

My results:

  • I lost 4.29% in Body Fat
  • I lost 7 lbs of Fat
  • I gained 3 lbs of Muscle
  • I lost 2 inches off my waist
  • I lost 3 inches off my hips
  • My flexibility and strength stayed about the same ( I did 16 more crunches in a minute and same # of push ups, same amount of reach for flexibilty)
  • And,  I dropped a size in my pants (which honestly is the only thing I care about besides my Body Fat).

Here is a before and after and also midway points….

See a difference? The last picture is taken about a week apart (week 8, week 9, week 10). Just emphasizes patience one has to have to see results. But in the past 3 weeks, I feel like the results are really starting to show.

My photo shoot is postponed till August (I’m trying to get one in July, but we’ll see). Since the 10 weeks came to an end, I’ve started eating Paleo for dinner and am ”officially” starting Crossfit next week (I’ve done it before, but never continuously). I also have signed up for a Crossfit inspired race on June 30th, fingers crossed I don’t just give up from exhaustion half way through lol.

I do want to take a second to thank my trainers and everyone who supported me with this. I had more girls send me “before” pictures of themselves for inspiration and I can’t wait to see the “afters!” Its a very personal thing to challenge yourself and to share your results and not something I took lightly. I by no means enjoy sharing my pictures on the internet. You can hardly find pictures of me in a bikini on facebook (except from a ridiculous trip to Tybee with some besties), but it definitely did hold me accountable. Especially when I ran into people at restaurants or bars who said they followed my blog….definitely made me rethink ordering that cheeseburger and fries at 1am!!!

Once I book my photoshoot, I will let everyone know and probably start phase 2 lol. Thanks again to everyone who followed this and kept me motivated!
